Give Your House A Makeover

It has almost been a year of quarantine and we spent majority of our time being locked inside our homes. And if you’re someone who constantly look for ways to keep your creative juices flowing, it might be a great cue to redecorate your home. Now, It’s not a great time to go out shopping for home décor items but what if I tell you, there are other ways through which you can give your house a new look. You can give it a new look by using resources that are already in your home.

Paint your way through the house. Adding pop of colours here and there, can make your space look fresh and new instantly. For example- painting the front door with bold/vibrant colours or paint a single wall. And if you’re someone who loves art then making a mural can be a good idea.

Lighting makes a lot of difference when it comes to interior styling. You can make easy DIY lamps using things that are available in your home, like using an old fabric into a lampshade or by cupcake papers. There are thousands DIY tutorials available on the YouTube.

When re-decorating your house, treat it like a blank canvas and for better insight try clicking pictures of different corners of your house. Try adding accessories to amp up the space. Here are some ways you can do it.

  1. USE OLD PLATES AS A WALL DÉCOR – you can paint them, write a thought or make cool boho patterns/mandala art and hang them on your walls. They look very eccentric and thoughtful.

  1. ADD MORE PLANTS – Adding more indoor plants across your house can elevate the entire look. It makes everything look more appealing and refreshing. Also, gardening is very therapeutic and plants help reduce stress and boost your productivity.

  1. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS – little things make a lot of difference. Add a little pops of creative stuff around your bookshelf and other corners of your home. Like turning old cutlery into a floral vase or some other decorative piece. You can decorate the corners of your house with just books and plants.

  1. RECYCLE OLD FURNITURE – now that we all are working from home, you might want to get that old table out of your garage and turn it into your workspace. Similarly, you can play around with your old furniture and give it a new look by simply painting and accessorizing it.

Here’s how you can give your house a makeover without having to go out. Start with the old fashioned cleaning spree and play around the different elements until you’re happy.
